    New enclosure help please

I’m asking if it is true that a bearded dragon would be less comfortable if one of the sides is clear plastic. Our dragon likes to go to the side of the tank and look out of our living room window. With the cage as is she could not do that. Zen says it is better to have only one translucent...

    New enclosure help please

Hi, I got my beardie a new enclosure from Zen habitats. As I was putting it together I noticed the sides are opaque. Not clear. My girl seems to like to sit on her hide and look out of our living room window through the side of her cage. So I asked the people at Zen and they said that they...

My Baby Beardie Died - Please Help

I had a very similar experience with my second bearded dragon. I got a baby from the pet store and he was not as active as I am used to. He ate okay for about a week and then stopped. I took him to the vet and the vet was pretty confident that he had adenovirus. Its common in baby's coming from...

Not sure what to do now

+1 For baby food. Mine loves baby food. So if I need to get vitamins in him or I feel he needs water, baby food is the way I go. Another tip I read recently is to spray the greens with water, if you can get your baby to eat them. Mine seems to only eat his greens if I dust them lightly with...

    So any reason for this.......

Want weird? I was going upload a video. But it’s too large apparently. Mine has learned to go through the doggy door all in his own. Pretty smart dude.

    Scratching Glass

As was mentioned, I think, the dragon probably just wants to get out and play. Mine does this a lot. My guy has actually learned how to use the doggy door to go outside (supervised, of course). On the topic of UVB, I prefer mercury vapors. My hero recommends them strongly and they seem to work...

    Suddenly Aggressive Dragon

Someone above mentioned more out of cage time. My current beardie really loves getting out of his cage. If, for whatever reason, I can't let him out as often as he would like... he gets a little pissy. But he gets over it after I let him out for a couple of hours. My cage is large, but I think...

    New Bearded Dragon owner

Mine gets black when he’s cold. When I let him out to run around he finds a spot to sleep. When he turns dark I pit him back into his cage and turns back to his normal color.

    Substrate Advice!

I use moss mats. My guy likes them. I have four in rotation. I hand wash in a bleach solution periodically as they rotate through. Every cycle I toss one and replace it. No issues yet after a couple years.

Baby beardie is not eating! Help please

The baby food I feed mine has neither preservatives nor sugar unless they are absent from the ingredients list. One thing it does have: water. I think its a great way to get water in the little guy.

Baby beardie is not eating! Help please

When mine doesn't eat for longer than I feel comfortable with, I give him baby food diluted with water. He, oddly enough, loves it. Its a great way to get water in him, give him vitamins, and mix up his diet.

    Height of light question

There is so much conflicting info on the net. My Herpetologist is pretty adamant that MVB produce the highest quality UVB and does so for longer than any other source. I don't have any links to back that up. But I have had two different vets echo that. I'm pretty invested with MVBs as I have a...

    Height of light question

Side note, I am not using a basking bulb. I am using mercury vapors to provide UVB and heat (suggested by my vet). It does seem like an easy way to provide both heat and UVB to the same spot. Any reason why this would be a bad idea? David

    Height of light question

Thanks for the replies. I am using 2 mercury vapor UVB / Heat bulbs. 100W and 150W. Its a 40 gallon tank, walls are 18 inches high. Soon I will be replacing it with a custom made 70 gallon tank with the same height walls. I measured the surface of the tree at 118 degrees at on point yesterday...
