My Ragnar was born we think late October 2024, so ~4 mos old. Weighed in a couple of weeks ago at 37 grams. About a week ago he buried himself under his food dish and has been there ever since. Originally, I didn't give it much thought but I've been reading some and this just seems too young. I feel my husbandry is good; arcadia t5 12% UVB, a 100 watt and 65 watt halogen that keeps the basking spot at 115 surface temp and 97 air temp, cool side 75, a 6500k lamp. He's in a 4x2x2 with two hides, substrate 50 topsoil, 30 sand, 20 clay.

Do you think I should move the food dish so he is no longer under it? I have lifted it to check on him and he opens an eye as if to say what's up.

Thanks for any advice.

115 is too hot for a surface basking temp- please get it down to 95-100 and then see what he does- temps should be taken w/ a digital probe thermometer- those are the most accurate - do you have the in uvb in the tank and directly above the basking decor 12-15 inches

Under a year old he should not be brumating. Is he eating? Pooping? They do use hides to sleep in but he should be active during the day and he should be eating bugs (crickets, dubias). You should also offer greens daily even if he shows little interest...babies and juveniles need 80% insects and 20% greens so always encourage the greens. Got a pic of your dragon and your enclosure? Babies/juveniles should really not have loose substrate for fear of ingestion/impaction...can you change it out to a nonadhesive shelf liner? If you can get a stool sample, Id drop it off at an exotic vet for a check for parasites.
