My dragon is 6 or 7 months old. I had help with the lighting & basking so everything is good. Two weeks ago a stink bug was trapped under the basking dome & the dragon got pretty spooked. He constantly watches the screen & doesn't want to bask. He acts spooked by every little thing even things that he used to be okay with.
Four days after the incident, he woke me at 5am freaking out, frantically wanting out.
I turned lights on, tried misting, petting but he stayed freaked out for three hours.
A few days later I noticed lumps on his neck that are fairly large. Looks like a food pouch but neither have gone down at all in a week
Vet can't see until June 3rd but Im so worried!

He eats pheonix worms am & pm with dubia mid day. I was dusting Dubai with calcium & reptivite on the two off days.
He doesn't eat his greens but wondering if that is too much calcium?

He is still acting spooked & constantly looking up at the basking light. He rarely basks. I'm moving the bask bulb as close to or over as I can wherever he sits. He has been glass surfing off & on since that 5am morning. He just isn't himself. Yesterday & today, he isn't eating as much & his feces isn't runny but it's loose & has been since the stingbug. I know he is stressed & wondering how to help him.
Can anyone tell me what the lumps are?

Just received a larger fully enclosed pvc. That should help with the constant checking & hiding from the screen where the dome is but since he is seemingly stressed already, should I not add to that by changing enclosures right now?
My main concern is the lumps. Online states abcess or anuerism but both sides? I've lessened the calcium but no change in three days.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Are you talking about these? Have they just appeared for you? Have you not noticed them ? Unless my beardie is deformed, shes had them her whole life..... as for the stress, can you go over what kind of stimulation the tank gets throughout the day? Cats, dogs, kids, vacuuming? Is the tank near a window? And can you post a picture of the top of the screen?

Wow-seeing your baby has those lumps made my day! I'm stressing so bad over what's wrong. I recently moved him across the room & he is closer to my birds so I just taped paper towels over the glass earlier.
I'm going out to buy bulbs etc for the 4' enclosure I just put up. He acts so funny about what's above him since 2 weeks ago when a stink bug got trapped under the basking dome. That's when he started jumping at the screen/glass surfing & avoids the basking dome. Hopefully he gets back to normal in the new enclosure with a solid top. Will try & do the pics in a few minutes. Thank you so much for making me feel better about those lumps!
I really hope he isn't a female. This pic shows 2 little bumps but it's hard to tell. He don't sit still long enough to get a picture under the tail. I deal with egg laying/binding with my parrots. I really want him to be a he

Your dragon does look male ---- what bulbs are you buying for that tank - your UVB should go right into the new tank --- basking may change depending on what wattage you have now -- those are trial and error -- the birds may be freaking your dragon out

http://www.uvguide.co.uk/phototherapyphosphor.htm hoping that link works. I'm confused after seeing that. It says the reptisun t5 10 isn't good but a mega Ray is better. I should use the t5 bulb inside tank? This came with a hood but it's not a reflector, should I put the reptisun hood in instead?
I think it was the parrots. They have moments but normally are quiet. I covered the side glass & he was actually basking more!

I think you might want your uve inside your enclosure, ill take a picture of mine when my beardies lights come on. If you have zip ties those work really well.

He's going into an enclosed PVC as soon as I get the temps right & the lighting is inside since the top is solid. How far should he be from t5 10 when there isn't a screen?
The hood that came is plain so wondering if I should drill my reptisun hood in?

I believe correct distance is 11-15 inches is the goldie locks zone, sadie will come in here shortly and correct us if im wrong im shure, dont drill holes in the fixture 0_0 ! B A D
Of course i have a different style enclosure you do, but the idea is the same, run two zip ties through the screen, then a 3rd through the two to hold the fixture it self, you may have to get a screwdriver and widen the holes in the screen to get them through, you can use other mediums to hang it up (if you get a wire clothes hanger you can use that to hang it aswell, and you wouldn’t have to ruin ur screen) i just like zipties cause they have a lower failure rate.

Love her tail & what looks like a white hair do but that could be the lighting!
I don't have a screen top & utube said to remove the reflected & drill it into the PVC top but? Will the regular hood that came with the new enclosure not be as good?
I also saw where it was said that the reptisun loses uvb power everyday that a maga Ray or something like that is better for the uvb?
Sadie sure is a cutie!

Lol my beardie is shedding, and Oh i see what ur working with now, yea you do have to make holes i guess, im not an expert with lighting so cant say whats better or not, i do know a reflector is a must have, or else the uvb isn’t being directed downward, and its going everywhere in the enclosure, im not quite shure what ud do in your case.

I value your insight & thank you so much for your help! I'm definitely gonna take that one out & use my reptisun then. Why do so many sell crap that harms the animals. It's extremely frustrating! He is doing better so it's either he didn't like being able to see the birds or he was getting too much calcium with eating pheonix worms twice a day & me dusting the dubia 5x a week plus there's calcium in the Reptivite he gets twice a week. I cut back about 4 or 5 days ago. Thanks again!

For now the UVB can be on top hes got a wide hole screen 8-10 inches when he goes to the taller tank it should be 12-15 inches inside the tank directly above the basking decor piece
