Hi everyone!
While Willow (7yo female) was in brumation, I adopted Zen (2yo male). They are housed in separate tanks with almost identical lighting.

Willow's temps are 100 basking / 80 cool
Zen's temps are 105 basking / 83-84 cool

Willow has lived with me for almost 4yrs now and in previous years, she has woken up from brumation and her colour is bright and lovely as her body prepares to lay her first clutch. With Zen living downstairs from her, she has been dark & has stress lines. Do they need to be separated further so they cannot sense eachother at all?
Zen has a black beard 70% of the day and bobs at any sense of Willow's presence.

Their personalities are so different too. Willow is very gentle and mild mannered while Zen is incredibly fiesty and I sense he is still a bit uncertain about me.

I don't intend on breeding them and I don't really know much about how to house two beardies of the opposite sex so they can be stress free.

Any advice?

As long as they cannot see each other at all they are fine- do not have them out together of coarse since you dont want babies- the head bobbing is normal for this time of year - Hiccup has been doing the same just instinct kicking in - as far as I know they cannot smell each other I have not heard of them doing that - its the seeing one another thats going to stress them out
