Hello everyone, my son received two female bearded dragons, an almost 6 month old and a 7 month old, for his birthday. Our whole family is thrilled with them! They are a fantastic addition to our family. I have never owned a bearded dragon before, and while I've done as much research as possible, I have so many questions. I really just want them to be as happy and healthy as possible, so ANY advice is more than welcome :) I definitely would like to know how much they should be eating daily. I know what to feed them, I'm just not sure how much would be an ideal amount. How many crickets and meal worms should they have in a day? What is the best bedding to use? In your opinion, which fruits and vegetables are the best for a beardie? And anything else you can think of to help me make their lives the best they can be. Thanks so much in advance :)

For Nutritional information this site is great.
http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html

Millworms are not the best foodto give though. Suppers would be better and roaches are even better. I give mine roaches and suppers about 3 times a week. I give them as many as they will eat at one time then thats it untill next time.

I feed greens daily. I just fill their food bowl. Probably about 1 1/2 cups worth daily. Some days they wull just eat alittle some days they will pretty much eat it all.

As for substrate. I'd rank them as follows. (Note: this is personal opinion)
1.) Slate tile or other rough finish ceramic or stone tile.
2.) Reptile carpet
3.) Sand (sifted rinsed play sand not calci or any other colored or "digestible" sand)
4.) Paper (ive used Brown packaging paper and it works well... do not use newspaper because of the Ink and dyes)

Also if you can I'd get an enclosure that is at least the size of a 75 gallon aquarium to house both together. There may also come a day you have to separate them if aggression starts.
