whats a parasite like and how do i know if my beardy has one???

Well i have had an issue with my bearded dragon he hadnt pooped in a over 11 days and had pretty much been eating crickets every other day and half his veggies. Today being the 11 day he finally pooped but in his poo were little white things i don't know how to describe them along with over a weeks worth of food. he has also been very "sleepy" he is just about a year old not yet though (i don't know his exact hatch date) but i figured this was brumation..... does anyone have any idea what i should do or whats wrong as far as brumation and parasites? when he is out of his cage though he is very active and i belive the only reason he pood was because i gave him a warm bath

thank you.... ya he seemed great after he pooped but i know its not ok and i know something is wrong... i was thinking it may be the veggies i gave him but i dunno

I think you will learn with these creatures it is better to be proactive when you have a vibe that things are not right. I am not trying to scare you, just making sure the message gets across. So many times, when a beardie starts showing signs that something is amiss, it is pretty far along into the sickness.

It never hurts to take them in for a checkup and get a fecal done on them. Make sure you take some poo!

i brought some poo today they tested it and he has pin worms. so i meet with the vet on monday(she is out of town) and she will do a check up and give me meds for him. thanks for your help once again! it really helps when people respond

Aw, I'm sorry your dragon has worms. But I am glad you sought out help and can get him on the road to recovery. Poor little thing. Keep us posted on what the vet says on Monday and how he is responding to treatment.
