I am having an issue figuring out what this is. I noticed it this morning.

It’s tender to touch and has crusty yellow between the scales
Might just be coincidence, some dragons don't like their tail being touched, especially right before, during or after shed.

Hi jennie, may i ask for a closer up picture? Sometimes on their tails shed can get stuck in between their scales, its NOT an issue though and should flake off eventually, make shure to keep up with baths about once to 2 times a week, scrub him with a soft bristle toothbrush..

He loves baths especially when he was shedding. Seemed to make him a much happier little guy and helped with shedding. I can try and get a better picture but he doesn’t sit still very well! Also would a babies toothbrush work ok? They are super soft

That’s good he likes baths! And really any toothbrush is fine :) just NOT ones with rubber bristles.

Just to clarify when Skybug says 'scrub' him they don't mean treat him like a dirty dish with dried on food - they mean gently rub them in the direction of the scales :)
