I noticed this raised bump right on top of Sosa's head. Anyone have any idea what it is? His behavior hasn't changed or anything.

Well that is his Parietal eye. I don't know why it would be swollen though, I would have a vet check it out.

What kind of lights are you using and how close can he get to them?

I'm using the reptisun lights. Does this happen when it gets too hot? I started using a new bulb as of 2 days ago and that's when I started noticing it

I read on another site that this happened and in that case the vet said it was a thermo burn from maybe bumping a light or something.

Oh no. It was probably because I changed my bulb and maybe it's a higher voltage than I thought. I measured the temp where he always hangs out under the basking lamp and it was at 135 [emoji20] I feel beyond terrible but confused on why he wouldn't move away from the heat. I lowered the hammock (the highest he can get) and I will measure the temp again.

Hey we all make mistakes..it happens, :( glad you moved the hammock down, it is interesting that he didn't move away was he gapping at all? (laying there with his mouth open?
Keep an eye on his head, he still may need to be seen for a burn..I'm not certain on tx for it..

I noticed no changes in behavior or else I would have probably caught the problem earlier.

Keep an eye on it. You can use something called silver solution it's by Curad and you can get it at Walgreens it's for minor cuts and burns. It's for minor burns. If it gets worse looking you're going to need to see a vet.
