What could be wrong with my Beardie?

I need some advice with my Beardie Noah that began to have symptoms of something, but I don't know what. He is 10 years old and has never had any health problems. But two days ago, he begun to act like the side of his mouth itches. You know when they start losing skin on their face near their lips they start to try and rub it off onto things. That is what he is doing but he isn't shedding right now. He started doing it again today and this time his throat is black and he never goes black anymore. This tells me is most likely irritated by something. I also noticed when he was rubbing that it is only on one particular side and there was a bit of drool coming out and he isn't one to ever drool. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is pretty old, so I expect things to happen since he is so old. But I am really hoping this is something I can take care of at home because I can't take him to the vet at the moment. I just lost my cat, and I spent every last dime I had trying to save his life to no avail. I hope this doesn't have anything to do with his teeth. His teeth don't look super great. There are bits of black in there around his teeth from what I can tell. But it's hard to tell. I don't even know if that is from his teeth actually. I will have to wait until he is cold to open his mouth to take a good look. He is friendly but it would be easier. Does anyone have any clues to what might be the problem? He lives alone in his own 64-gallon aquarium. He still eats good. Super worms and veggies. He gets calcium on his super worms, and he has a basking bulb and the other uvb bulb that stretches across the entire cage. I am worried. TY

Update: I looked a little on the side of his mouth and it is a normal color. It just looked like there was something by his lips. And he is actually itching I think on both sides. I picked him up and was helping him itch the sides of his mouth and the black instantly went away and he was very much into my helping him and was even pushing against my fingers.

Please post a pic of the dragon and the issue -- what are you using for a substrate?

You can't tell anything from the pictures. I cant take a picture of the issue. It isn't something you can see but a behaviour which I already described. He has tiles in his cage and now there are tiles and a black plastic lizard mat. The last picture is of him during bath time, but you can see his whole body better.

He is usually heavier than this, but he had been brumating for a while and lost weight. He is beginning to put weight on again though.

Ok good that he is gaining weight again and that is normal for them to loose some weight but not a lot -- his whole body is going into shed - the light color all over is shed coming on -w/ reading the post w/ out the pics I thought maybe he was allergic to something but after seeing him hes going into shed

He's not going into shed. First of all, these pictures weren't taken this week. And two he has always looked like this. Iv'e had him for 10 years. So, I know when he is going to shed.

Hi Ellen. We're doing the best we can It's pretty hard when all we've got are pictures and a description. We have to fall back on our experience.

Are you able to look in his mouth to see if he has something stuck in there?

He is eating his veggies right now and I got a look in his mouth a bit and his teeth are pretty brown. More on the side that is bothering him. I am wondering if he has tooth decay like we do and may have a cavity that is bothering him and if that is the case I have no idea what to do about that. I have the same problem and can't do anything about it.
