Hey yall so Ozzy has been shedding recently and typically he has no problem but recently I noticed this odd thing going on with his bottom lip! It seems like there’s shed but there’s also a dark spot and a crack and I’m a little worried! It’s located on that bigger plate on his bottom lip!

Is he doing a lot of glass surfing bumping the nose?

Yes actually! I think he’s in heat rn and whenever he starts I let him out! Although when I’m away I ofc have to leave him in the tank
Ok so how big is the tank? Glass surfing can be caused by lots of things- incorrect temps in the tank - hormones females will glass surf and dig-- what kind of UVB? are there any colored bulbs being used? is the dragon head bobbing and glass surfing?

I had made another post that went into his specs and about his issue with glass surfing and others concluded that it was spring time and that he’s looking for a mate! He’s typically very chill but because of mating season he’s wanting to be out all the time! Is it potentially bruising? I’m just worried about it being stuck shed or something

I found the other post -- did you upgrade your T 8 - those are actually for smaller tanks like 40 gallon or less - even a 40 should have a T 5-- you can use some raw unpasteurized honey on his chin -- if he eats it thats fine just dont have any crickets if your feeding those in the tank - it will promote healing -- if you want links for the UVB let me know I can post 3 good ones that are recommended

I would like to upgrade to a t5 but the mount that my mother installed is 18” and I can’t find a t5 that size :( his t8 is very close to where his bed is and is mounted inside the tank so hopefully that will suffice! Thanks for the suggestion of raw honey!! I’m assuming it’s almost like a scab from all the glass surfing?

Its a scab a lot of dragons have them -- the T 8 is ok but T5's dont come w/ any type of mount brackets - I always suggest using these https://www.homedepot.com/p/Commerc...Zip-Ties-20-Pack-UV-Black-GT-200STH/315487230
the T8's need changed out every 6 months I recommend every 5 and it needs to be at least 6-8 inches directly above his basking decor piece
