Vet follow up

Sometime around the beginning of the year, I took Precious to the vet for the first time when I was finding blood outside her poop. She had a high count of coccidia, got medicated. There was improvement right away.
I took our skink to the vet today and decided to take Precious for a follow up. I knew Precious seemed to have put on weight. My son teases that she has “beardie boobies” now lol. Well, she was last weighed at 446 grams. She's now 519 grams, at 21 inches! The vet said next time he sees her we may have to put her on a diet lol.

You got a big girl, but I don't think she's fat. he should see my Luci who is only 17 inches and 425 grams. If he doesn't get longer fast, he's going to be as round as he is long!

How'd the skink's checkup go?

LOL, round Luci! I guess I have a warped way of thinking but chubbier, well rounded pets just look healthier to me...and there's more to cuddle!

The skink had a great appetite since I first got her, ate twice a day, daily poops. Then I found some of the substrate in her poop and she stopped eating for 3 days. Got worried, made the vet appointment...a half hour after making the appointment, she started eating and pooping for me again. I decided to still take her to get checked out and a fecal done anyway. She's a whopping 108 grams at 11 inches. He was palpating her belly and she did a massive poop...all over the floor, his shoe and pant leg! But he had a great attitude, he gets excited and says “Oh perfect, a fresh stool sample!”

LOL! I guess if you are a vet you have to be ready for anything!

I am glad the medication worked and she is gaining weight.
