We’ve had Steve for under a year now but I think she’s started sheading and I’m just worried as I’ve never seen her shed before. Last night she wss her normal colour then I got home earlier she was under her rock and was a completely different colour to what I’ve ever seen her before, this isn’t like my last beardies shead at all and just want to make sure I don’t need a vet visit for being over worried? I had her out for a second and she peed on me I’ve never had that before it was literally water and then a very yellow neon urate came out this then made me more worried
The slides further on are her at her normal colour

The color is normal that is shed coming on- the urate should not be yellow - what are you feeding and any supplements being fed?

Lettuce? As in iceberg or romaine? Iceberg has no nutritional value and will cause watery stools- she needs greens like collards turnip kale or mustard greens- squash like zucchini yellow butternut - any supplements being fed?

Ok no supplements? Too much calcium can cause calcium toxicity - I would get her into the vet and have blood work done- please post a pic of her how long has she not been eating

No supplements, we only had her checked up on last month but looking into it more it does look like the start of sheading I’ll message my vet and see what he says

I had someone take a a look at her and this is what they said
She looks distressed with high color and black beard. The yellow " poo " may actually be egg yolk coming out. She needs to see a good retile vet ASAP. Could be eggbound or have burst eggs inside which could cause peritonitis. I hope she will be O.K !

Just a update, we went to the vets earlier and she passed a way there, she had a insanely low red blood cell count she was at the first stage of eggs but it had taken it out of her apparnetlnwjat ever it was it was a long time coming her signs a couple days before this was just her being fussy and not eating we didn’t even have the option to save her I feel awful as a beardie mum

I am so sorry to hear this -- low blood cell count ? Not sure what would of caused that - it is always such a shock when things like this happen -- again I am so sorry--

Not a clue the vet did say something but for the life of me can’t remember but it’s been going on for about 8 months her blood was transparent when he took some blood and afterwards she just shut down didn’t even get a chance to save her

Thank you so much. I’m going back to the vet tomorrow and I’ll see what information I can get on the causes but we had to checkouts with her one in August last year one of January this year he didn’t do any blood test or x-rays and to our knowledge she never laid X or the last lady you could never tell us anything about her Going through egg stages so we didn’t have a lot to go off of but when she started I knew something wasn’t right but even my vet said it didn’t sound like shedding at all but he does believe that the last straw was how she had about 60 eggs in her and that sucked all the last bit of nutrient she had She was about six or seven years old. I feel so bad that she couldn’t get a proper life but we only had her since August and the issue would start around eight months ago so we wouldn’t of been in the know

Hello,

Oh no, I am so sorry you lost her like this.
I would say that it was likely egg issues, possibly causing peritonitis (infection of the coelomic cavity)
which is somewhat common. Excessive eggs can contribute to liver problems also.
Ideally, when they start having that many egg problems it's usually best to have them spayed to avoid
health problems.
I am very sorry for your loss of your girl.

Tracie
