Okay...I am new (only 2 other posts)...we have a 12 week old bearded dragon...and are very new to this lifestyle...but want to do right by him (which is why I am on this board).

He doesnt seem to be eating at all....we bought mealworms (heard good and bad about them), but his tank is kept warm (105 in basking area). Anyhow, doesnt seem to eat them (only ate the first day, which was 2 days ago). Doesnt go for veggies at all.

So...as a newbie, and a concerned pet owner....

What is the best for my little guy??? I will buy him anything at this moment ---

veggies? which ones are best??
live animals - what ones?how many? removed at night or just left in tank??

Sometimes it takes a few days for a beardie to adjust to their new homes. But lets go over a few things.

The temps of 105*....is that taken with a digital thermometer or temp gun?
Don't feed mealies. Not good for beardies, especially babies. Feed only correct sized crix. They should be no bigger than the space between his eyes.
When you got him home, did you give him a little soak to be sure he was well hydrated?
What uvb and % are you using?
What is the substrate?

Yes take out all uneaten live food after he is done eating. Offer crix 3x a day. Eating as many as he can in 10 minutes. Take all uneaten out immediately.

They don't normally eat greens at this age, but offer daily. Dandelion, escarole, bok choy, swiss chard are just some to start with.

Yes. Ditto to everything Li said. Mealies definite no no. You can order them in bulk online cheap, from places like Ghanns and lllreptile. As well as a few others. Uneatens must be taken out, because they will chomp on your beardie in the night  om nom nom. Not good. Some beardies just don't like veggies. Keep trying, and eventually he will come around.
