I read in another post that collard greens, dandelion greens, mustard greens, carrot tops, parsley are good for our beardies.

How about zuccinni (sp?), squash, and alfalfa sprouts?

I also read in the post that spinach is not good for calcium absorption, but I've also read otherwise. Spinach is good in moderation, there is no green out there that is "perfect." I don't have my Beardie Book with me right now... but I will post later with what it said. I bought it as soon as my babies were given to me... and it seems pretty accurate.

Any other suggestions to spruce up my dragons' salads?

How about zuccinni (sp?), squash, and alfalfa sprouts? These are all good. They are considered the veggies.

collard greens, dandelion greens, mustard greens, carrot tops, parsley are considered the greens. The greens are essential for their diet. The veggies are an added perk and beardies tend to love the veggies more than the greens. That is why it is recommended to put the veggies in a pile and sprinkle the greens on top. This way you ensure your bearded dragon will eat some of the greens to get to the veggies.

:D know this is an old post but I laughed when it mentioned they will eat their greens then eat their veggies underneath. Freda spits out what she dosen't want all round her veg bowl to get to the bits she does like. It looks like a dustbin by the time she has finished. Or is she just particually fussy. Lotty

Beardies never cease to amaze me. I guess Freda is too smart and won't fall for the veggie under the greens trick!
