I have a T5 HO fixture with a reflector that I want to place inside the enclosure but is it better to place on the back wall or on the top screen?

Probably the top. Wouldn't putting it on the back wall just point to forward, not down to the beardie?

On the top definately, the reflectors spread that light over everything. If you put it on the back wall it would be blindingly bright to look at from the outside, I suppose you would lose a lot of light throught he glass.

Yes any lighting needs to be from above them and not to the side.. they have those ridges over their eyes to help protect their eyes so if it comes from the side it can hurt them over time.
