UVB question

Just got my beardie, about to order UVB. I have a 75 gallon so it’s 21 inches tall and the UVB will be placed on top of the screen top. Should I get the 12% or 14% Arcadia? And the tank is 48 inches long so should I get a 48 inch light or will 24 or 36 inch be sufficient? Thanks in advance

A 24" fixture is good but I it needs to go inside the tank for a 21" tall tank - you need to have the bulb unobstructed for that tall of a tank other wise your going to lose 30% of those rays -- get the 12% bulb for the Arcadia -- that is considered a T 5 -- if you ever run into problems not being able to get the bulb replaced if they were out of stock you can use the Reptisun 10.0 T 5 -- I have a Zoo Med fixture and swap the bulbs all the time if necessary -- you want the distance directly over the basking decor piece 12-15 inches -----if you need help w/ things to hang it w/ please post and I will post some for you
I just looked and they are out of the 12% -- dont get the 14% its going to be too strong -- let me see if the Reptisun is in--ok get the Reptisun 10.0 T 5 they are in stock -- shockingly

Awesome thank you so much..he has a pretty tall basking spot, maybe 12 to 15 inches tall, should the uvb still go inside? Sorry so many questions..just want to make sure I get this right

Yes if the tallest is 15 inches that is fine strap it to the top-- w/ your basking decor piece directly under it - you should then be w/ in the range of 12-15

You need to replace a T 5 once a year I recommend a month prior to- for a T 8 every 6 months a month prior to

Idk - they are pretty cheap- if you can get one of the others I recommended I would get that-- Idk anything about those as far as reputation-
