I just bought a 22” reptisun 10.0 UVB for my Beardie and I was looking online and they were a little pricey. They were about $50 to $70. I have no promblem paying if I need to but I was wondering if anyone knows another alternative that was more cost efficient and still allows my Beardie to get the light he needs.Do I need to get a reptile brand or can it be any light fixture that hold fluorescent lamps?

You need a hood /w a reflector --- I do not recommend fixtures from Home Depot etc they do not have reflectors -- the reflector intensifies the UVB rays and projects the rays downward toward him -- it is extremely important that you have one -- it is going to be more beneficial to him
