Hi all just a quick question I noticed when leaving for work today that my dragons uv light has blown (repti glow 10.0) the problem I have is due to work commitments I'm not gonna get time to pick up a new one till Thursday at the earliest, he still has a white light and his heat lamp will he be ok till then or do I need one sooner ? Thanks in advance

welcome - you can only do what you can do. uv light is, of course, essential, but a few days isn't gonna kill him. I live out in the sticks so I always have a back ups for almost everything. if you can afford it - you might want to consider getting 2, then having 1 as a spare.

I've ordered one from the Internet should be with me Thursday am so he's only going to be without for 3 days so hopefully he's gonna be fine :) I'm also gonna order a spare next week so I'm never in this position again

Since the bulb blew, if you get a chance, you can take him outside for some natural sunshine. That way he's getting some UVB. And the sun beats a bulb anyday!

Is there anyway for you to cancel that order or change it? The ReptiGlo is a pretty poor bulb for UVB output, so Id recommend the Zoomed version if you can change it.

As for going a few days without UVB, its not a problem at all. There is no noticeable reduction in their blood serum levels for over a month without UV light.
