Very nice lookin dragon! How do you tell if they've got trans? My Italian leather really has a lot of green in her back, and I've been wondering if that means she's het for trans or something? (if that's the term)

She has strong genetics (kojak x zest from carolina classic) and some of her siblings have been known to turn trans. Trans is generally gummy TRANSlucent scaling and a pure give away for trans is solid jet black eyes...the green on yours should turn yellow after a few sheds, its hard to tell without seeing your dragon but thank you!

If an animal doesn't show visual traits then that animal will have recessive traits (genetics) making them Heterozygous or Hets for short. Like SoDiss said they generally have a gummy appearance, this is because they lack white melanin (pigment) making their scales more clear or translucent.

Thank you both for explaining that! I don't know her genetics, I just know she's an Italian leatherback. It might just be her coloration then, her eyes aren't black.
