So I finally got Pablo into his new enclosure after finding a home for pickles.

It didn't take much adjusting for him he is very happy with his new home although I would like to do a custom rock theme throught the whole enclosure but with the styrofoam or something so If u know of any good do it yourself videos for something like that let me know. I'm also having a hard time finding a background locally probably just going to order one.

He is a lot more active now and just chills on his branch when not getting around. He has dug out the under the rocks and had a huge cave that he sleeps in at night he seems to really enjoy his new castle. Let me know what u think and if u have any suggestions let me know :)

I think it looks fantastic....even the wallpaper has it's own flavor!! It is simple to maintain without a lot of frills....just what a beardie likes. Where did you get you long stick? I like it. Spike doesn't have one but I might try a bamboo shoot as I have some growing big time in my side yard. I am wondering if it would be too slippery?? Keep up the good work!!:D

Glad to see you got Pablo fixed up and he is looking great!:)
I do like the branch but my concern is the steepness and height of it where he appears to like to bask. It wouldn't take much for him to misstep or slip and fall or for him to attempt a jump like a lot of dragons like to do and end up injuring himself especially landing on the rock formation.
One thing to remember is that although when younger they like to climb more bearded dragons are terrestrial creatures. The climbing is no problem but the climbing down safely is often not their best talent and even moreso the older they get. Also as they age they tend to be less and less inclined to scale heights and prefer sticking closer to the ground.
Were it me I would lower the branch to make it safer for him and remove the possibility of him injuring himself.
If you need the high perch to get his basking temp right then a better option would be to use a stronger watt basking bulb so that the heat reaches further down into the enclosure or build up the rock formation to make it where he can easily step down from his high perch onto the rock.
Check out Lizard Landscapes website at the following link and you will find great step by step videos and info on how to make your own custom fake rock structures and backgrounds.

Also when you do your build be sure to take lots of pics. I'm sure folks would love to follow along with your project and you might just inspire someone else to build their own:)
I also have a thread called Building Mt. Mungi in the Enclosure Section here that you can look at where I used the same techniques that you will find on Lizard Landscapes. If you run into any questions along the way I would be happy to help answer them.

Keep us updated!
Enjoy!!

Thanks pat b he really does like his enclosure and im pretty happy with it too. I think bamboo would be to slippery because like Buddha said at that incline even my rough stick was a little to slippery for Pablo so i went ahead and cut a little off as buddha suggested and added a couple more rocks so he can just step off.The stick came with the tank but if I wanted to get another it would be fairly easy to find in my area because I'm about 15 miles from the Mississippi River and drift wood is everywhere. But thanks for the advice Buddha u where right I did notice he had a little bit of a hard time getting down but not up so here is the finished tank. I think I will leave it this way for a while until I have enough money to do the fake rock build...and I'm not going to rush since Pablo will be with me for a while :). But when I do I will do a build log with pics and share with everyone.

I think your enclosure looks really nice, the rock formation may provide many 'Dark' hiding spots for the feeders though.

Another thing that comes to mind, is where you have the sensor for the thermometer placed. Having it stuck to glass, inches off to the side will give you inaccurate readings. It will be much hotter at the center of the bright spot on the branch where your BD is Basking in the Pics & that is where the sensor\probe should be attached to provide accurate readings where they need to be read from.

Good Luck

@Germ I was thinking that would be the case on the temp...but was trying to give Pablo a more comfortable basking spot by removing the probe from under his belly. I will find a way to mount it on the side of the stick to get a reading tho. I'm sure I can rig something up. As for the hiding spots for the feeders...Pablo is still being fed out of a high sided plastic tub. I just throw some feeders in the top and put the lid on then put the tub in the tank, as soon as Pablo sees it he goes into feed mode and stiffins up on his branch and as soon as I take the lid of he runs down the branch and pounces into the tub and eats all the crix before they even have a chance to jump out. It's really awesome to watch . I will have to post a video to share on here so y'all can check it out
