HI I AM Wanting to become a bearded dragon owner. I will keeping the dragon in my room, I am in the forces and travel home about 3 weekends of the month. would this be ok to be left alone. if I am away for any longer period of time I can have someone look in and handle and feed the beardie. am I better to get from a baby?
I will work mon-fri 8:30 till around 17;00 but will be In the room and could handle and feed between 12-13;30
and then after work all night
all advice welcome

Welcome – good for you for thinking this out. Babies require feeding three times a day – it doesn't appear that you'll be able to do this. I think I would recommend an adult or a sub adult – at least six months maybe a year old. You can certainly leave an older dragon alone for the weekend. Babies dont eat so much greens older dragons eat more greens. You could leave greens with him for the weekend – but you can't do that with babies. I understand that it can be rewarding to raise a baby but I have two beardis that I picked up as adults and love them just as much. Which doesn't mean that some day I don't want a baby!
