I recently switch my dudes substrate from mulch to repterra white sand he's roughly 4 months old and he keeps eating the sand is this normal or OK or should I switch back

You should not allow him to eat sand. It could cause impaction down the road...

I've been keeping an eye on him and has only done it twice and he has stopped so I will keep watching him and if he still does it I'm going to switch back

Please keep an eye on him and also make sure he is hydrated. Impaction is going to happen if your beardie is dehydrated.
