Hi Alivia. I don't think I would say that tegu's are easily tamed. You have to spend a lot of time with them and raise them from hatchlings. I know they take quite a bit of space. Probably 30 cubic feet or more. Check out TeguTalk.com - I help over there too - it's a great site

I love the looks of the Tegu but I seen at the pet store we frequent one of the Tegu's take a chunk out of the poor girls finger that was trying to feed him. So I don't think I would want one, my grandson would loose a finger or 2 lol.

They can definitely be very temperamental . But they can also be "dog tame". Take a look at Bobby Hill's tegus at varnyard-herps-inc.com
You have to work with them constantly and consistently

I wouldn't have the time to do them, that is why I love the dragons. You really don't have to spend hours and hours a day with them and they are really tame :)

an argentinian Tegu is my dream reptile. I met one (she was so cool and had a great personality) at a reptile expo and fell in love with the breed. My wife will not let me get one until or cat has passed away and she moves out:(..........
So i guess I really no longer won't one.

I looked at that site too. Has alot of video's of the Tegu. I am still hesitant about them being tame and such. But then again I was hesitant about getting a dragon.
