When I get my new enclosure I want to plant a few prickly pears and maybe aloe but not sure what to do about substrate for live plants. Any advice here? Thank you
bioactive setups with live invertebrates in the soil like springtails isopods superworms and mealworms amongst other things to help maintain the soil etc
Whatever plants you pick make shure they’re in a spot you can easily get to, some beardies ruin plants , hedge hog aloe is a good and hardy one, and if you get any paddle cactus you might want it up against the wall (my beardie has snapped a few in half) you can also put a couple hibiscus plants in there) and mint is a good one, but it will need to be replaced periodically, you can also get palm tree saplings(these grow super slow and it’ll be 3 years before you have to remove it from the enclosure) any plants you do get make shure the leaves get throughly washed, I ended up putting fake plants in :/ cause she doesn’t respect them nor eats them.
