So I'm pretty new here. Never had a dragon before, as my first post explains my situation. I'm in between a baby and adult.

I went to get my tank, and a 40 breeder is HUGE!!! Would it be too big for a little baby? (I know the guy will grow, and id need a 40 down the road) but I feel like the little guy would get lost in there!

Please tell me you opinion on this enclosure. Here are some bulbs and lights at this particular store. The sales rep said I NEED to have lights on 24/7, the red bulb for night time, and I told her from what I've read that's not true.... she instead.

I also just want one clamp lamp for heat and then the long tube for ubv. Would I be able to get these bulbs from my hardware store?

I'm trying to figure out if it's cheaper to get the whole set up, or buy things individually. Which one would actually be cheaper. The whole tank lot is a out 212 for the 40 gal breeder.

Going to try and attach pictures....

You're going to have to attach the pictures some other way than photobucket. Can't see them.

Don't get the kit!! you won't use most of the items!!
get the 40G breeder yes at first for a baby it will be big just give things for it to hide in etc.. (I have a 5 week old and plan on getting a 40 in Oct when petco has their $1 per gal sale)
All you need is: A good UVB system most of us use: Reptisun T5 HO 10.0 uvb
basking bulb for heat. DO NOT get any colored lights they hurt their eyes, keep them from sleeping..
substrate for the bottom: tile, repti carpet, paper towels, newspaper, shelf liner (NO loose substrate)
hides: 1 for cool side 1 for hot side
hammocks, decorations (nothing that can be bitten off)
supplements, live food remember fresh is always best!! No pellets, no dehydrated foods...

To get all the info you need take a look at the links below several of our comments we have put together everything you could possibly need for their care....

You will find most pet store people don't know proper husbandry for them..

well done on coming here first and doing your homework. Those pet shop sales peeps give the worst advice, I wish they would join this forum and learn the basics even. If you are considering an adult, a recue or pre loved beardie will probably come fully equipped, Ive seen people selling entire setups for very little money.

No way! They come up for me. How else to I load them?
Haven't you heard? To get photobucket to do third party hosting, you gotta pay them hundreds of dollars now.
Try Imgur, or some other free host site. Or you could load the pictures direct from your computer.

yeah the thing is all of the ones here on CL have sand substrate and I'd be worried on getting a possibly sick dragon risking impaction. Something I would prefer not to deal with.

Trying Imgur to see if you guys can see the pictures. I did the math, for substrate, lights, bulbs, calcium, bowls, hides hammocks, driftwood, calcium supplements totaled to about 230 WITHOUT tank, tank lid, or lizard. So I'm thinking the kit might be a good idea.

You can't use the sand in this kit, causes impaction, harbors bacteria, smells, add's to much calcium for your dragon as they will taste everything.
you can't use the UVB ibulbs in this kit, they are only really good for temp useage and doesn't emit enough UVB needed.
the temp/humid guage only measures the glass so it's no good
The food is dry pellets and full of preservatives.. Fresh is always best, live is always best..

You gotta look around for deals petmountain.com has great prices for lighting,
petco has $1per gal sales 4-5 times a year
tiles are cheap
decorations can be found online etsy or fb often there are people that make the stuff you can find cheap..

so you can do it all cheaper than the kit and get just what you want and what you can actually use instead of pitching and having to get better.

Yea the kits suck, really is false advertising with all the items that are not good for them..

Now is the time that stores start having their $1 a gallon sale. Even Pet supplies Plus had one the other day. A 40g tank isn't too big to put a baby in if you give the baby lots of places to hide and get away from the world. I started mine in 40g and they did just fine. I had vines for climbing and multiple hammocks and things to crawl under.
