Does anyone have one of those side opening tanks and leave it open for their dragon to come and go as they please? When you are home of course not while you were away

no, I just take my bearded dragon out every day to explore the house but I don't leave it open for him to come out so I can supervise him. I think some people do that tho but it can cause stress and anxiety for them because they might feel exposed and unprotected, it can also affect the temperature and make it too cold for them.

Thats what I do too. I wont let him explore the house right now because he is still small and I dont trust the cat. My dogs I trust but the cat nope! I just see it on instagram a lot where they let them come and go

The folks on instagram do what they do for clicks and likes, but it is only a few moments snapshot of the dragon's day. Some of the posters are great, know what to do and how to do it. There are others-one guy comes to mind-who does A LOT of unsafe and ill advused things with his dragon. The dragon had a major illness not long ago, fortunately recovered. Free roaming has its place but one of the posters actually shared how she runs around her house just prior to shooting a video closing doors, sweeping floor etc so her dragon can be safe. There is even a guy on you tube who has a ton of reptiles housed under horrible conditions, talking about morphs etc so youd think he knows what he is talking about. But if you have a dragon of your own, you can see right away what he does wrong.
