So my bearded dragon has had a long term tail injury since before I got him. As a hatchling a sibling chomped on his tail, not fully ripping the tip off but putting permanent indents in it. It was never a problem until recently. It's been five months since the injury, but his tail tip has darkened and a piece of shed is stuck in the indent. I'm not sure if it's tail rot or just decreased blood flow or what. Advice? I'd rather avoid putting him through the pain of getting his tail tip clipped, but I absolutely will if that's tail rot.

It will more than likely fall off and since its been that long its not tail rot - you would have seen the tail getting dark turning black by now --- just keep an eye on it when the end falls off start putting some raw unpasteurized honey on it - that will keep infection away ---
