Im going to be honest. While feeding my beardie a few days ago he jumped off the counter and somehow his tail got stuck under the trash can. Originally his tail had a little indent. Although, now the tip of his tail is black. I think it might just be bruised but I bought medicine for tail rot & cuts/bruising. So I need help! Is the image below tail rot or bruising!

Is the tail black on the bottom? Tail rot can start w/ injuries bites nips and snips like getting caught in something--- to me it looks like its going to shed -- keep an eye on it keep this pic and watch for blackening of the tail - if it turns really black then more than likely it is infected --- w/ that take the tail and dip it in some raw unfiltered honey example Manuka NO crickets in the tank when doing this - here is some info on honey

Here is some info about tail rot
Causes of tail rot are:
1. Injuries/trauma - caused by falls, or by any other bearded dragon.

2. Malnourished - make sure he has a balanced diet and he gets the nourishment he needs

How to identify tail rot:

1. Dried out - Decaying tail won't be able to retain moisture, check if it's dried out completely.

2. Very thin, brittle - Decaying tail won't be able to process nourishment, causing it to become more thin and brittle.
What to do after finding out it has a tail rot:
1. Go to a vet - very recommended
For more info, please see the link: https://reptile.guide/bearded-dragon-tail-rot/
Then Ask yourself these questions:
Was the tail recently injured?
Was a part of the tail open (eg wound/scrape/cut)
Was flesh exposed?
Is the tail constantly dark? or does the darkness ever go away (eg when in the tank, different environments)
If you didn't answer yes to basically all of those questions, it's not tail rot.
Tail rot is extremely rare. It's an infection of the flesh, from a wound or injury to the tail.
Tail rot is really kind of just a fancy name for an infected wound, one of which is affecting the tail.ail Rot

His tail fell off! Although it’s very little bit of the tail ! Vet gave us medicine which we are picking up today ! But idk if we should take him to an emergency vet. I do think the trash can cut him a little and unfortunately it got infected. Any suggestions?? I’m so nervous !!
