Hi guys, I currently have a Reptisun 10.0 T8 in my viv, I’m upgrading viv size so called a local reptile centre to enquire if they had the same bulb but a longer version in stock and they said T8’s are being phased out and T5’s recommended. Which T5 would I need for a 4ftx2ftx2ft? And do I need to purchase a new controller for that? My current has an Arcadia controller but I presume this is just for the T8. Thanks in advance!

The T5 are stronger than the T8. I recommend going to Reptilebasics.com to purchase the T5 fixture and Arcadia UVB lights. They don’t have to be replaced for a year

I’ve been to collect one now, I got a ProT5 Kit 39W and if I’m correct it’s 3ft long and 14% UVB. This was recommended in store and online. As I’ve been using the T8 with a controller I wasn’t sure if T5’s needed a controller unit but I now know they don’t require one, they plug straight into the mains.

T5; it emits more UVB and is brighter for the tank which Beardies need light & brought to thrive. Make sure the reptisun I order is 70percent the length of the tank and make sure there’s a hideaway. I olace a towel over his hammock and a fleece blanket under thre hammock so it’s like a dark shady comfy hideaway for him and that’s in the Hotside the hammock is behind the basking area
