Oh yeah! Scary stuff! I found one of those at the pet store the other day in a container of superworms. Something else turns into flies...I think phoenix worms maybe.

Yes they do. Although I wonder if the beardie could eat them at that stage.

After finding this gross beetle,I got on google! Love google..it said when they do turn they let off a stinky odor as a defense mechanism so most won't eat them, this super wasn't in a container,he found a hole in the house we built Si and crawled in there bout 3 weeks ago and I couldn't get it out,he borrowed in there,so I just covered it up thinking it would shrivel up and die..nope uncovered hole yesterday and out crawled a 1 inch black nasty beetle!

Had one crawl on me while I was sleeping. A superworm got out of my chams cage somehow, morphed into a beetle, and made its way to my room. I bombed the house and have never used superworms again lol

OMG I would die finding it crawling on me! Although one time I lost a cricket I could have sworn it landed on my pj's but couldn't find it. The next morning I woke up and it was still alive sitting on the floor next to my bed! Surprisingly none of my cats bothered to get it!

The other interesting thing is I ordered bulk super worms and I kept them in a tank of oats and they lasted for MONTHS. I got down to like 10 of them and I put them in a tupperware bowl that didn't have ventilation, and I thought I used them all but about a month ago I still saw one crawling in there! It never turned into a beetle, it stayed a superworm. I guess now we know why they are called "super"worms!

I buy 1000 supers at a time,I keep them in a big plastic tub with drilled holes on lid,and fill bottom with oatmeal, they do last a long time,I think they turn to beetles when they are alone, this little sucker crawled in that hole s month ago a super worm, and crawled back out a big black beetle!

Sounds right. I do the same thing.
