I use a mix of wheat bran and oats, they both work well :) oats get a little stinkier if not changed often enough in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've not had more than a couple dozen at a time. Now that I'm buying in bulk I realize I'm probably not going to get by with using greens and veggies as the only substrate lol

Talked to a guy that suggested adding calcium supplements to the oats because my chameleon won't eat if he can see worm or Dubais dusted in powder, just curious if any of you have tried this or have any opinions. Beardie don't care but woul be nice if it works

I personally add a pinch of calcium in with all of my feeders. When I was only getting a couple dozen supers they got, calcium, greens, and veggies. I've always done the same with my feeder roaches. I just sprinkle a little on top of their veggie dish. I have not had any issues from doing this. Most live feeders (supers included) do not have the best ca:p ratio, so I allow them to eat a small amount to sort of even things out.

I put a cardboard cup holder on top of the oats to put my greens on so that they don't get the oats moldy.

Smart thinking. We will have to mimic that idea. The supers we got must have been starved, they literally ate an entire thing of oats within a few hours.
