Hello everyone. I got my bearded dragon a couple weeks ago and at first he was doing fine, but now he has a really dark stress marks and I’m not sure what to do. He’s six years old and this is his second rehoming. I have a feeling it has to do with the high humidity in his tank. We put a dehumidifier in there, but it’s still not in the ideal range. It’s a glass tank and I think that’s part of the problem so we are building him a new bigger one out of plywood. However, I the meantime does anyone have any advice they could give me to try to calm him down or bring down the humidity? Thank you so much.

What is the humidity? The hygrometer should be in the center of the tank back middle of wall-- humidity levels can be from 30%-70%-- no higher- your lighting plays a roll in stress levels- basking temps--- how are you taking them? No stick Ons-- UVB No Coils-- No colored bulbs

I believe it has gotten up to 80%, but not too often or for long. I know that's still harmful to him though. The basking light in the back corner of the tank. It sits on top of the mesh lid of the tank. The tank itself temp is 80 degrees. How should I measure the basking temp?

Get a digital probe thermometer from Petco PetSmart place on the spot he sits for basking temp for 10 minutes-- needs to be 105-110 for a baby 95-110 for adult / juvie- no coils for a UVB you need a long tube fixture w/ reflector and a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 for a 40+ gallon tank--- lighting in the tank is crucial to the overall health of the dragon-- you need 3 temps in the tank basking middle of tank 90's and cool side 80's
