after reading this forum I decided I had to get Richard ( who I actually now think is Rachel ) BSFL. My order came yesterday. My question is how many should I be feeding him a day? And, do I still need to buy crickets etc?

The BSFL are a good compliment to the crickets -- feed as many as you want DO NOT dust them - if your going as a main staple you will need to feed alot like 50 or so at a time - I used them as a salad lure adding them to the tops of the salads then fed dubia roaches about a hr later - the insect you feed will need to be dusted - w/ calcium D3 and your vitamins w/ beta carotene 2 x per week -- you can switch over completely to the BSFL but you are going to need a lot for the baby -- feeding twice / day starting w/ 50 of them they are small so hes going to eat alot of them - the roaches are easier to feed and better nutritionally
