The family has researched and read and watched just about everything there is to do with bearded dragons. We have a setup that is almost complete. (I am getting tile cut tonight) Then this weekend we go pick up the little guy that will become part of the family. He is one year old they say he is a leatherback and he looks kinda orange from the pics. Thanks for having me. I look forward to reading even more than I already have and sharing as I go.

Great to hear.Glad you've researched the little guy will give so much pleasure. My 9 year old loves all our reptiles. We bought the first when she was 3 to cure her fear of bugs. Now we've got 2 beardies 1 leopard ghecko & vieled chameleon. Cured her bug phobia she's so knowledgeable now she gives talks at school. Her plan is to become a herp vet.Enjoy your little guy takes a while to get used to the live food but it's all part of the fun.

As of now his name is Ranger. (named by his current owners) We are kicking around different names. Naming a dragon is a lot like naming a kid. It is a process, and I don't think we can settle on a name until we meet him.
I went last night to get the tile and have it cut for his habitat. I guess I measured wrong or did math wrong when the person at the store was cutting. One of the pieces is too big. I guess its better than too small. haha.
From the picture does anyone know what color he is called. He is the orange color in the pic, and he has a black tail and black beard. He is a leather back. I just can't wrap my mind around the whole lingo for how they name the different colors and types/crosses. I still have some to learn.
Thank you all for having me.

Sometimes you can't name them until you meet them and learn their personalities. You'll come up with a good name. It's easy to measure wrong, when I used tile in my tank I just went by the measurements the tank was advertised as. Never took into consideration that the measurements included the framing around the outside of the tank and that the actual inside was slightly smaller

Yep that's the plan so far. Get up and head the 3 hours away to get him. We have been kicking around ideas. We will see I guess. :)
