Hi everyone
I appreciate once older you can leave bearded dragons longer but we just got one and think it is only a couple of months old - although growing and eating at a rapid rate. Before we got it I checked out pet boarding for reptiles when we are on holiday but I assumed that they would have vivariums. Which they don't - we decided to buy a big one which just isn't portable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to get a smaller one, or what might be suitable with least hassle. Thanks

hi - I would actually recommend having a friend stop by your place to check on your kid. Taking him on vaca with you may cause some stress - unfamiliar territory, much moving, irregular meals, how to provide heat, etc.

Hi
Thanks for this, unfortunately having someone come to our house won't work. I was asking the question as I can book Treacle into a local pet boarding facility that looks after reptiles. Unfortunately I have to take the vivarium which is big and heavy which is why I'm looking for something smaller. I was thinking that I can still put the branches, etc in the smaller one so still some familiarity,

ahs o - my apologies. what does the pet boarding facility have available? do they have lights? heat lamp? separate area for animals requiring high humidity vs low humidity? How often will they feed? (I would suggest that you provide your food - what is your beardie eating?) how often will they clean up his poop? what are their room temps? I don't think it would be a great idea to have them take him out and handle him - just watch him, feed him, etc. (to prevent possible cross contamination or injury) for a few days you wont need anything elaborate. I'm thinkin small fish tank. maybe need to provide your own heat lamps. I would also think that it may be a good idea to put paper on 3 sides of the tank to make him feel more secure. ???
