Hey, I have a year and a half old bearded dragon who seems to be growing very slow, I’m not sure why if it’s just his genetics or if I’m doing something wrong but I thought I’d make a post here asking advice, when I got him I was given him because he was really really small and they didn’t want to sell a bearded dragon that small, he’s an amazing eater, has a feisty attitude, and he has beautiful colors. I have him in a 6ft long by 3ft by 3ft enclosure with a 10.0 Uvb strip and a fluckers 100 basking bulb, he’s on tiles and has lots of things to climb on. He eats a large variety of greens and I give him two small salads a day (morning and night) then he gets large silk worms a day and crickets, sometimes faint mealworms or horn worms but those are more of treats for him. Any advice would be great thank you

I will hold off on the mealworms. Some beardies grow slower that others, before you got him do you what kind of UVB lights was being used and what his basking temperature is and was. The size of the parents can determine this and parasites as well. Do you have a scale and a tape measure if so I will monitor that niece a week. The first thing I would do is schedule an appointment with a vet to make sure he is healthy with no parasites

that's normal for bearded dragons to grow slowly as they grow older mine sheds every other month so you shouldn't worry but if never and I mean never shed then that's when I think you should worry
