Hello, my bearded dragon has a hump starting to from and I’m worried about him. He also started slightly twitching occasionally. I give him calcium with d3 3 times a week and calcium with d3 2. He has a t5 Arcadia uvb 14 in away from him. Please let me know what this could be.

This could be a abcess or cyst -- I would get him into the vet -- a reptile vet please here is a website to find a reptile vet near you - if your in a small town or area type in a bigger cities zip code

I called the vet and got an appointment in a week. Do you think it’s ok to wait this long or should I pay for urgent care.

It depends on how fast it's growing- they will need to draw fluid to see if it's got infection - or what kind of infection

Hi! I went to this vet that is listed on that site & I believe that he is the only vet in the office that’s willing to see bearded dragons but he knew NOTHING about them. Didn’t want to check stool because I’ve had him for a year so couldn’t be parasites, I asked about distance from UVB, he never asked what type I used etc but said any distance from 2” - 24”, I asked about temps & was told 110 up to 124 degrees. Said mine hasn’t eaten for many months because I’m stressing him out by removing him from his enclosure. When I insisted that’s not the case, I was asked why I was there since I know more than him. Asked what vitamins I should be giving & was told that he seems very healthy so keep doing what I’m doing. I had the stool so I got it checked against his advice & was told pinworms after two weeks of repeated calls asking what the results were. It’s been four weeks since his second dose & he is still the same. I got super worms which he actually ate three (they are at least 2”) a few days ago then again today. He has no interest in Dubia/BSFL or greens. Is that okay to let him eat them? Do they need rinsed? He still eats the baby food with calcium etc but not a lot. He wants to hide all day but stays where I put him under his lights until I move him again so he is digesting & getting the reptisun 10 UVB
I’m glad he’s showing interest in eating on his own but concerned that super worms might be bad. My female who’s almost a year had three & hasn’t had her normal bowel in three days now & doesn’t show interest in eating, only every other day & only once. Dragons are hard to care for. Thank you!
