I am curious, with a general guesstimate on the average male growth rate, would yall say a dragon that is 15 inches now was probably born mid april? I checked a few breeder and all their males born mid april were 14 to 15 inches.
If your dragon didn't come from a breeder, the information you obtain from breeders really isn't useful to you. Breeders raise their babies much much differently than wholesalers that provide temporary care. Naturally those things have a huge impact on growth.
For reference, a 15 inch dragon coming from one of mine would be between 3-5 months old.
Well cant say all do BUT mine did. Got her at 7 mnths and 10 inches weighing 71 grams (Bad bad previous owners) and in 5 months time she is now 19 inches and weighs 385 gramms.
At one stage (for almost 2 months straight) she was in constant shed. The minute the last part of her body finished peeling the first part was grey again. And she ate me out of house and home.
I agree that you cant go by length to guess age. When I rescued Brady, he was 6 and a half months old, 10 inches and 46 grams. He came from a pet store with horrible husbandry.
Piggy was 6+ months when I got her and only 10 inches, unknown weight and just like Pogie, she was one constant shed for over 3 months. But also like Pogie, Piggy did not come from a good owner. Now is she is 1 and is 16.5 inches and 325g.
