Okay, I have two beardies in seperate houseing. I believe one to be male the other female. The male had more than trippled in size since we bought them in October (2010) and the female, looks as if she hasn't grown at all. in fact, she almost looks like she is shrinking. She's super active and loves to eat crickets and lettuce. Once a week she gets her powedered crickets and I run the Reptisum 10.0 light an hour or so a day. Sometimes longer. This is because of the housing set up I have right now. Pretty soon it will change. I have tried to do research; however, I have come up with nothing on the fact that one lizard seems to have not gained any type of weight what so ever. Any ideas as to why? Thanks in advance! :) BTW..I have tried to uploard pictures for everyone to see, however, it says that the picture that I am uploading is to large. I do not know how to change that. Sorry.

This might have something to do with the issue at hand...
I most certainly would get the uvb online 12-14 hours daily.
As for the powdered, what are you using ? Young dragons need (one meal a day) of calcium powdered feeder insects and 1 day a week of vitamin powdered feeder insects to be healthy.
How many meals does this young dragon get daily?

You can't go wrong with getting a fecal exam either..

Hope this helps.

They eat daily..Sorry, I forgot to mention that. They will have their lights hopefully within the next week or so. They are getting much much bigger housing. The set up we have now was temporary. I didn't know all that went into taking care of these little guys. They were birthday gifts for my step children. Totally unexpected an unprepared for. We're getting there. Thank goodness for this forum, I'm learning lots.

You can learn a lot from here.

As Janie pointed out, they need much more UV. more live feeders, and I noticed you said you were feeding lettuce. Collard greens or mustard greens are a much better staple for them.

Big kudos to you for seeking out help for your new pets. Sounds like you are tying to make a good home for them. These animals are pretty resilient, but do require good husbandry from their owners to thrive.
