About a month ago I got 25 silkworms from reptilian arts and some seemed dead and the food was completely dry so that didn’t work and my Beardie only got to eat about 10, I tried two weeks later and the same thing happend but this time the container started to form, what looked like mold on the food and on the silkworms itself. I’m not an expert when it comes to silkworms so maybe it wasn’t mold but I was wondering if anyone else experienced something like this? Also, is there a way to keep the food from drying up at the bottom? I was hoping for recommendations as well. I’m looking for not too pricey silkworms that comes with a lot and don’t die quick!

I had the same issues, it was my first time getting them, they’re alot harder to keep alive compared to hornworms, in my opinion, I haven’t gotten them since :/

They must be having issues as it seemslately they havent been very good --- they used to be real good w/ the silk worms -- you can get small horn worms from dubiaroaches.com - I just got some small ones here last week and they were real good and small --

I fed Steffern when she was a juvie an absolutely massive hornworm, she took it down fine, they’d be trying to eat all kinds of things in the wild , definitely scorpions, /— they have strong jaws and the jelly glob worm won’t cause “impaction”.

Ohh ok I always thought it was bad! Maybe that was for hard shelled bugs, and your Beardie has such beautiful colors!

No I feed them when I get them - it's taking longer for them to grow this time - usually they come medium and w/ in a week they are huge -- keep them away from the heat and dump the frass out--- I feed two at a time to two dragons

I haven’t tried them yet but ordered eggs so I didn’t have to worry about transport of the live worms. I noticed the silkworm breeders in my area are not shipping them live.

Oh, maybe silkworms don’t survive transporting! That’s a good idea
