My little female leo is what looks like shivering?? Her temps are 89.6 hot side 79 cool side. she also won't open her eyes. I'm kinda concerened. She hasn't pooped in a couple of days and she's hasn't been eating for at least 3 days now. Any advice would be great thanks

Corrine... Is that the new one in the thread below ?
First thought, cal dish.. is one present ?
Second thought, under tank heater ?

Try this, bath in shallow tepid water, not baby warm but a tad cooler, 80ish-85*F.
If you have some liquid cal, I would try to dribble that into her.

I've got one more thought.
It's very common for new leopards (babies) to have trouble acclimating. Part of this is how we as breeders raise them up. When you have 200 baby leopards, it's hard to have 200 glass tanks. We use sterilite shoe boxes. The area is small (easy to catch food), easily kept warm, and fits one small hide. A water dish is added peroidically and the hide is sprayed for shedding purposes.

You might consider moving her temporarily until she can adjust better.
The Underbelly heat is also my question.

I got my heat mats and installed them last night. They are getting WAY to hot. Is there a way to adjust them? I got all the plants and hides set up in the leo's tanks. The little one is much more active now that her temps are up a bit. How high can thier temps get? Her hot side is 104.4.(temp gun, I LOVE it!) That's right above the mat. She's laying there tho and seems content. She's slowly com Still debating on names for the little geckos.

Was this ever resolved, Corrine ? If it wasn't then too hot, to too cool could be the issue at hand.
Also, did you ever paper the sides of her tank ?

yes i put up white computer paper around the inside about 1/4 of the way up and I unplugged the heat mat when the temp got to high. I went back to the 75 watt night bulb that I was using. She has a dish of straight calcium powder in her tank. I will pick up some liquid calcium if I have a chance between my shifts. (I hate my job but who doesn't) I will try the bath right now and see if that helps. What about her not opening her eyes?

Not opening her eyes is suggestive of multiple things. Some normal, some not.
Is she shedding? Is she involved in any white light atmosphere? Is there any sign of mucas?

try the soak. And I think I'd see if i could get into the vet.
Her lethargy, lack of appetite and not pooping could be a sign of parasites. Also her weight has bearing on this observation. Ask the vet for the topical panacur if you need it. You rub it on her belly. Much better solution for gex.

thanks Janie.. I knew she wasn't in very good shape when I bought here but I couldn't help it. I have a soft spot for sickly animals. I just couldn't save this one. At least she lived out her last days in comfort.
