My beardie is acting like he is "drunk" he walks slowly and his head wobles when he tries to grab food. he does not have good control of his movement. he eats ok but appears tired. I have uva, uvb, heat lamp, 55 gallon tank. he eats mainly crickets and super worms. crickets eat calcium supp and superworms get coating of calcium powder. anyone have any sugestions?

It is difficult to say. I guess a few follow up questions are:

1. How long have you had your beardie?
2. What is your temp on the hot side?
3. What is your temp on the cool side?
4. What are you using to measure your temps?
5. How often does he poop?
6. What UVB bulb and manufacturer do you have?
7. When was the last time you changed your bulb?
8. What is your substrate?
9. How long are lights on?
10. How long are lights off?
11. How often do you bathe him/her?

Hate to answer your questions with questions, but your answers will help us.

it could be impaction. Impaction does not only cause paralysis of the rear legs. It can cause problems with the nervous system as a hole. Causeing problems with walking/climbing, chasing food, and overall action. Superworms if fed in excess can cause impaction. Another issue it could possibly be is a inner ear infection (yes beardies can get this) which would drastically effect his equilibrium. I honestly have to suggest a vet for this. It is the only real way to find out what is going on. Do you have a vet in your area that works with herps? If not you can check herpvetconnection.com
Call and make a appointment asap and get him in to get looked at.

Were you able to get your beardie to a vet? How is he doing?
