Should I be worried about his eye?

Hello everyone,

I've had my baby Milo for 2 weeks and 3 days. When I picked him up, he didn't really open his left eye. I was told that it was due to stress. I did some research and found this to be true. This is my first dragon and I don't know if it's normal for his eye to look this way. I have attached some pictures of what it looks like now. I have seen both of his eyes wide open and normal but for the most part he always has his left eye like that.

Gosh he is cute!

I'm still new so I don't have an answer, but on beardeddragon.org there is a vet mod and some experienced owners who may be able to help you out

Thank you!

I appreciate you giving me that information. I ended up taking him to the vet because I was getting too worried. He has retained eye caps. I was given a mineral oil and I was told to up his humidity. I'm still trying to figure out how to up it. Thank you again for the information. His eye is actually doing better now.

to up the humidity you can lightly mist your enclosure!

Thank you. He passed away this morning. I haven't stopped crying. He was doing great and all of the sudden got worse. I'm still trying to understand what happened and what I could've done to help him. Thank you for the information.

I'm so sorry for your loss
I just saw this post now and was going to ask you about the spot on his back down by his tail. From the pics it looks yellow and was going to say it sorta looks like yellow fungus..
If that was the case, honestly there probably wasn't much you could've done to help him, and would make sure everything he touched was thoroughly cleaned before you got another pet, so it doesn't happen again.
I'm truly sorry for your loss

Sorry to hear about that, Sometimes there is just nothing you can do, I've been through that before its very hard.
It has been really hard, I keep blaming myself but I am understanding that there was nothing I could've done. I miss him so much. It was only three weeks but he made me so happy.

.

I'm not sure if you are talking about the green spot. He was marked by the seller when I picked him out with a green dot. I had taken him to the vet when I posted about his eye. I was told he was healthy, but then I was told that the vet I had seen misdiagnosis sometimes. I have deep cleaned the tank, and I'm monitoring the temperatures and humidity. I hope to bring one home soon. My Milo won't be replaced though, he was 30th birthday present.

I don't think the spot I'm seeing is the mark from the breeder. It could even have been a patch where he was about to shed, and it just reflected a different colour in the camera. It is good that you disinfected the tank though *just in case*.
He was such a handsome little man.

I'm sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, smaller animals can pass away without any warning. It isn't your fault. Please try to be gentle with yourself. If it doesn't make you feel too guilty, try to distract yourself with a hobby, movie, book, or show.
