When my B.D, was half her size, taking her to the Vet. even in the winter wasn't a problem. I purchased a good size Plastic container (The ones people use for storage and come in a variety of sizes) drilled holes in the top. and made sure the towel I put inside for her was just the right size as well as being soft and fluffy for her :) .

Now she is a full grown adult. I had to make an appointment for her due to chronic constipation but how should I get her to the vet.? Should I buy the huge plastic containers and do what I did with the much smaller first one she had?

Her Vet. is a mile away and I'm being driven there. Her appointment is on Wed. at 3 P.M. I just bought her a huge, soft bath towel but the extended forecast for that time is100% chance of showers and the temp. ~ 57 degrees.

Any ideas of the best way getting to her appointment?

Thank you.

You can get a bigger plastic container or you could get a small pet carrier. They sell them at the pet store by the ferret and hamster supplies. Even if you have a cat or dog carrier you could bring her in that just tuck her into her big towel.

sounds like she would be fine on your chest with a sweatshirt over you both, short enough distance I would think.

Thanks so much everyone, ESPECIALLY for all of you answering so quickly.

Sometimes, the most obvious answers are right in front of you.

I am actually combining everyone's suggestions to get her to "her train on time."

This just goes to show you that this is the best B.D. board on the net!

Thanks again everyone and be well!

I think about that often. When my youngest gave me his very young B.D. that he just purchased, I knew nothing about them. hat was many moons ago.

One of the first videos I saw on YouTube is below:

After seeing that, I've always wanted to take my Lady out (my B.D.'s name is Lady ; ) ) but her only trips in the car, were during a very cold winter and locked in a plastic container (with soft material on the bottom of course). So I've alwasy wanted to take her somewhere but couldn't find another person to go with for fear of the same thing that you experienced.

I know I'm asking for it here bit I se a lot of YouTube videos of adult Beardies and many are just on either side of the narrarotor and not moving an inch. The narrrarotor always says that they are very doile creatures wich they indeed are. am I the only one that has a B.D. the wont stay put. I've tried it a couple of times, starting on my chest until she was shortly on my shoulder eyeing her opportunities.

I've only dne this twice because the second timne, I left her on my shoulder for a few minutes an SHE JUMPED OF OF ME!

Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't get a chance to edit this and the final version came out horrible.

Ignore the above and please read this post as it was supposed to be :(.

After seeing that, I've always wanted to take my Lady out (my B.D.'s name is Lady ; ) ) but her only trips in the car, were during a very cold winter and locked in a plastic container (with soft material on the bottom of course) going to her doctor. So I've always wanted to take her somewhere but couldn't find another person to go with for fear of the same thing that you experienced.

I know I'm asking for it here but I see a lot of YouTube videos of adult Beardies and many are just on either side of the narrator, sometimes two, and not moving an inch. The narrator always says that they are very docile creatures which they indeed are. Am I the only one that has a B.D. that will stay put? I've tried it a couple of times, starting on my chest until she was shortly on my shoulder eyeing her opportunities.

I've only done this twice because the second time I left her on my shoulder for a few minutes SHE JUMPED OFF OF ME! I freaked out. I was asking her "Are you okay, are you okay" for like five minutes as she was leisurely walking away.

Fortunately, she only hit a soft table which her Terrarium is on and then the floor which is about two feet. So I've learned my lesson and ALWAYS have my eye on her or have someone else doing it for me!
