My beardie seemed to be doing ok but since he started shedding he seems to have gone down hill fast. He is not moving, not eating, is twitching a lot and will not move around. Afraid he is dying. Lights and humidity are all fine. Lays flat, can barely climb up on bask.

Sounds like a uvb issue and surface basking temps-- please tell me in detail what your using-- shedding will not cause these issues

I have a 40 gal tank, with a heat dome with 125 watt bulb. Have a T5 10.0 HO tube light inside the tank. Basking is at 109 with heat gun

How old is the uvb bulb? Distance needs to be 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor -- heat guns are good but cannot read off of certain materials- example hammocks- when the dragon poops is it really runny and smell so bad you can smell it from another room? Please post a pic of the dragon- @Drache613

He's got a nice tank-- and he doesn't look to bad - how is he getting water? They won't eat if they are dehydrated - how long have you had him? They will go thru relocation stress- is he eating anything at all? Appetites will be off w/ relocation stress- the twitching concerns me--- are you dusting his insects w/ calcium D 3?

I feel he looks ok also. We have dropped water on his nose and used a syringe the last coupke of days. We got heim dec 28th. We do dust all crickets and roaches with calcium d3 . Yesterday he ate one roach. Today nothing so far. Is it ok to only have tile on bottom of tank.

tile is good I would get a mat like from Zen Habitat if your using a 4x2 tank - you can keep tile in the tank to keep his nails down---- or get some textured NON adhesive shelf liner - its better cushioned and not so hard on the joints -- keep offering food - hopefully his appetite picks up here watch his weight --- sound like hes got some relocation stress going -- does he have stress marks?

Hello,

Sorry your boy is having trouble. The tank looks great. Which T5 tube are you using, what brand is it
& how far from him is it? I see it's mounted underneath of the screen which is good.
Could he have eaten too large of prey that might be causing rear leg paralysis/weakness?
If at all possible, I would recommend trying to get him on some liquid calcium to help with increased
absorption rate right now.
Since he isn't able to climb or move very well, you might want to place some soft towels on the bottom
of his tank to help keep him from falling & hurting himself.
Is he still shedding or has he finished that yet?

Let us know how he is doing.

Took beardie to vet today, she told me he is very sick, gave him fluids and tested for worms. Said there wasnt a need to do blood work, feels he has gout. Said to soak him daily, and syringe him water. Said goal would be to get him walking and climbing again, but led me to think we dont have much hope.

Did they do a blood test to see if his uric acid levels were high? Did you get all your temps correct and the UVB w / distance as well ? Please start feeding him either off a spoon or by syringe --- get some baby food chicken and add a drop of honey for sweet -- if he wont lick off the spoon then syringe feed real slow and make it a runny consistency so it comes out of the syringe easier -- why does the vet think its gout? that is not a reason to give up in the dragon- never mind I see he said no need to do blood work but that is the only way to find out if he does have gout----- you need a new vet --

No i was hoping for blood work to find uric acid levels. Vet said temps could go down a little and humidity up a bit. I suggeated gout due to swelling of joints and rex not moving around at all. Told me to keep feeding as I am, but rex not eating salad at all, only protein amd moatly dubias because he cant catch crickets anymore. Vet said dont change feeding, i really think she thinks he is to far gone.

I hope not --- please stop the dubias they are high in uric acid and your vet should know this -- please post a pic of him again -- from the pics above he looks ok-- get some BSFL www.symtonbsf.com and feed those they are a great staple for babies -- feed as many as he will eat -- what is the humidity in the tank? you want it 40-50% nothing under 20 and over 70% taken w/ a digital probe hygrometer placed on the back center wall of the tank -- keep him hydrated please drop water on his nose see if he will lick -- is he eating at all ? you can get some chicken baby food /w some baby food squash and see if he lick off the spoon if not syringe feed very slowly make it a soupy consistency w/ water so hes getting hydration --
