I think my little dude/dudette is about to shed AGAIN! It still has a little flap of dried skin on his leg that hasn't fallen off yet. But, he is looking lighter in color and he hasn't touched his crickets yet today..... hrrmmm.

Pat, do beardies get darker in color when they are about to shed? Nothing has changed with Baby and he/she is still eating great but s/he is a lot darker than usual and I'm not sure what that means. I've been told they get darker at night because it's cooler but he/she seems to be staying darker more often.

BDs color will vary in depth depending on circumstances, if your setup & husbandry, lighting, temps, etc, is up to par, you should have nothing to worry about. BDs colors take on a greyer, duller tone as the new skin forms underneath & old skin is being prepped to be released.
