Setting up new PVC enclosure

Hi. My 4' x 24" PVC enclosure arrived & I have a question on night temps if not now then next fall. I have to install a light fixture which would need to be done while putting it together.

What night heat has anyone used in a PVC enclosure without a screen top? Some of the manufacturers told me that the CHE produces too much heat at the socket loosening it over time which becomes a fire hazard while others said it's fine. Online states that they run the risk of melting the PVC which could make it fall while other sites say it's fine.

I've looked online at other bulb options but not sure if they produce light even tho they are black?
I'm hoping you guys on here have the enclosed PVC & can help with this & possibly the watt basking bulb & distance so I have a general idea saving me from buying an assortment to test.

It would also be really cool if I can get what others are using as a hide, now that I'm going to have more room & he will be getting larger. (7 mo's now) & what are you using for basking spots since this is going to be 24". I'm going to need to get him up higher.
Thank you so much!
