I just picked up Slyders new viv and need to sanitize it. What is a good way to do this with what I have at home already? Can I mix up a bleach solution? how many parts bleach to water? or is there something better I can use? I know I have seen something on here before but I can't seem to find it.

i usually use lemon juice and water or vinegar and water if i run out of lemon...the bleach fumes (even diluted) really bothers my breathing and the other two methods are more natural nd the fumes arent bad at all on me

I've used 1/3 bleach to 2/3 water in the past. It takes a lot of rinsing to make sure the bleach is washed away.

I like Candice's method. I'm all about natural if it can be done.

Along with the methods we mentioned above, there's also a couple commercial products out there for reptiles. Zoo Med's Wipe Out 1 (I think it's 1) is specifically for habitat cleaning.

No....not at all :p

He did great moving in to a new viv and a new location. He spent a couple of hours standing on his stick on one leg. After his black beard went away I dropped in a couple of test crickets that he gobbled up fast, so I dropped in a bunch more and he ate about 40 tonight. He even explored and tested out his new hide but decided he liked his stick more for now. I even got a poop out of him. I did have to change out his light to a higher watt but we are good now. Now I get to have fun decorating it.

I will put pics up soon Janie don't worry.
