My dragon just started rubbing his/her face on the wood in her/his cage. is this a sign of a health problem? he/she is not rubbing to the point of bleeding or scraches but it just started today. would appriciate any feed back.

Your beardie might be getting ready to shed. They will usually go nuts in their enclosures, rubbing up against everything to try to get the shed skin to come loose. If you see patches of dull or lighter scales, this would also indicate a coming shed.

If your beardie is shedding, make sure not to pull any of the skin off for them. It seems like doing so would be helpful to them, but it can actually damage the scales underneath that may not be fully developed yet. It's also important for young dragons to learn how to get the skin off themselves.

What you can do to help is give daily soaks or spritz your beardie with warm water, to keep the skin moist. And be on the lookout for any areas that they are unable to get the skin off, as it can cause constriction and damage if it does not come off all the way (particularly around the toes, etc.) - very stubborn skin can be rubbed with a soft bristle tooth brush during their soak, but try to let your beardie get it all off themselves first.
