Respiratory infection

What have u guys done for respiratory infections? I went to the vet they gave me Bactrim for antibiotic and told me to do that 2xdaily and to raise the humidity to 50% and also do steam showers 2x daily....does that sound right?

Why would they recommend steam showers w/ RI? I am gonna get back w/ you gonna ask a vet tech that I know-

This is what my friend told me about the steam showers
I wouldn't do steam showers but they could do nebulization though, that
would be safer & more effective.
